Purpose of role

To provide a proactive and outstanding branch service to all the Society’s customers.  To engage with and introduce customers to all Society’s products and services.

Key Accountabilities

Sales and Customer Service

Engage with all branch customers in order to provide a personal and professional service.

  • Understand and identify customer needs by engaging with members & new customers to maximise all potential sales opportunities across each area of the business
  • Achieve sales targets through delivering quality leads to appropriate branch staff and Financial Consultants

Quality & Control

Understand and operate within all relevant compliance requirements, including internal systems of control

Systems & IT

Ability to understand and utilise all relevant society systems.

Processes & Procedures

Ability to follow appropriate Society and third party processes and procedures applicable to all areas of role.

Team Working

Contribute effectively to team goals and support all branch based colleagues to deliver against their targets.

Cash Management

Manage own till and float to required Society standard, including withdrawals, receipts and balances.

Product Knowledge

Attain and maintain in-depth product knowledge to allow leads to be generated.

Self-development

Take ownership and responsibility for own personal development with the support of line manager

To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by management

Person Specification

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent, including Maths and English
  • Previous banking, building society or face-to-face customer service experience
  • Proven track record of sales

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent verbal  communication and listening skills
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and sell to need
  • Good time management skills
