Cheshire Savers Raise Funds For Nch Charity

1st April 2008

NCH, the children’s charity has received a cheque from the Cheshire Building Society for over £10,000, thanks to the Society and its generous savers who hold affinity accounts with the Building Society in support of the charitable organisation.

The money was raised through the Society’s Caring for Children affinity savings account which sees the Cheshire distribute 1% of the average total balance of all accounts for the past year to NCH.  This is the seventh year that the account has been in existence and the money raised will be put towards projects such as the NCH Trafford Young Carers Project, which provides support to children and young people who provide unpaid care to a family member or friend.

Karen McCormick, Chief Executive of Cheshire Building Society said: “We are delighted to support NCH as it provides such an important service for many during their time of need.

“The affinity account is a great way for anyone to help raise much needed funds and it couldn’t be easier – simply enquire at your local Cheshire branch and we will do the rest.  NCH benefits from the annual donation and the account holder will benefit from a great home for their money.”

Gill Smith, from NCH, said: “We would like to thank the Cheshire and its savers for choosing to support NCH. This donation will help us continue our valuable work in supporting the most vulnerable children, young people and their families.”

NCH is one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, working in partnership to run nearly 500 services for more than 178,000 of the UK’s most vulnerable children, young people and their families.
