Mortgage Payment Difficulties

We do understand that people sometimes get into financial difficulties and are unable to make payments when they fall due. If you are having payment difficulties, you should contact us as soon as possible. The earlier you contact us, the easier it is for us to help you.

Even if you are not in payment difficulty now, but think you may have payment difficulties in the future, we're happy to talk to you and tell you what we can do to help.

We prefer you to telephone us on 0800 195 1514^ to explain your circumstances, so we can take them into account. Our staff in Specialist Servicing are trained to deal with payment difficulties, and have lots of experience in helping customers. They will look carefully at your individual circumstances, and treat you sympathetically and fairly.

If you prefer, you can write to us. If you want someone else to talk to us on your behalf, whether a relative, friend, or debt counselling organisation, we'll be happy to speak with them, but we will need your written authorisation.

You can download copies of National Homelessness Advice Service guideDownload and the Money Advice Trust Common Financial StatementDownload that will assist you, and we provide links to other sources of information. There are links to free debt counselling organisations who offer help and advice, an explanation of the role of credit reference agencies, and how you can find out what information they hold about you.
